Donor Advised Funds

Trusts and Donor Advised Funds

WCI provides opportunities for individuals, families and businesses to set up trusts and donor advised funds. Donors can direct gifts to their favorite charities through WCI. Donors like the freedom to focus on their charitable goals without worrying about the legal paperwork. Often donors will include other family members in the decision making process to instill philanthropic attitudes.

WCI can provide insight into a charity’s ability to successfully deliver programs. Our staff has many years of experience evaluating successful programs in the non-profit world. Donor anonymity can be protected, if desired, because gifts are given through WCI.

In all cases, these funds must meet state and federal regulations on making grants to 501(c)(3) non-profits. Developing donor advised funds is an effective and lower-cost method to create a “family or corporate foundation” without creating a more expensive independent foundation. This reduces paperwork, record keeping, staffing and at the same time, maximizes the charitable deduction of one’s gift.
