Donors to WCI can support their community or other nonprofit by participating in a variety of component funds.
As a community foundation, WCI has many component funds that meet the charitable objectives of donors. These include Donor Advised Funds, Designated Funds, Geographic Area Funds, restricted Field of Interest Funds, Scholarship Funds and nonprofit Organizational Funds. Individuals, families and businesses can start most of these funds.
The most common funds are the Donor Advised funds that reflect the needs of the donors. They have many of the characteristics of a private foundation. Donor Advised funds are more efficient because they don’t require a separate new organization and staff. They reduce operating costs, and governmental documentation.
