WCI often takes on the roles of facilitator, coordinator, administrator and convener for groups, organizations and communities in west central Minnesota. Here are some ways assumes these roles:

WCI provides transportation planning services for west central Minnesota through a contract with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).
WCI is the Economic Development District Designee for the nine counties in west central Minnesota (District 4) through a contract with the Economic Development Administration (EDA).
WCI convenes the Labor Force Development Council (LFDC).
WCI administrates and coordinates the Minnesota Early Childhood Initiative for the west central Minnesota region.
WCI coordinates the Picture It Painted Program in collaboration with Valspar Paints to provide paints, stains and coatings for regional restoration and beautification projects.
