West Central Initiative has worked for more than 20 years to improve the lives of people in the nine west central Minnesota counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin.
By using the donor services of WCI, we become your partner in meeting your philanthropy goals--either as an individual donor or/and the economic and community development needs of west central Minnesota.
WE RELY ON YOU. West Central Initiative is a public charity. So, we accomplish our mission through the generous financial support of our friends and associates. We are a qualified 501(c)(3) organization. Gifts to WCI are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
THE MCKNIGHT CHALLENGE GRANT: Our partners at The McKnight Foundation plan to invest $6 million dollars in our region over the next five years, from 2012-2016. Included in this gift is a challenge match for up to $1 million dollars raised locally. They will match gifts to the WCI endowment, component funds and WCI program initiatives.

Donor Services Team
Kim Embretson (L), CFRE, and Tom McSparron (R), CFRE, know a lot about helping people in rural areas make a connection between their dreams and the good work of our region's charities and community funds. Both Kim and Tom are well-versed in many aspects of fundraising and in helping donors complete charitable estate plans.
