Susie Brown, the public policy director at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, will provide training covering the basics of relationship building with elected officials and how advocacy can advance the mission of nonprofit organizations. A panel of local legislators will follow each training to answer questions and share stories about how effective advocacy works.

According to Brown, legislators are faced with making many important decisions and they can benefit from the unique understanding that nonprofits can bring to the table. “We encourage everyone who can to step up and make a difference by telling their stories through nonprofit advocacy,” Brown said.
